Kids say the funniest things!

This preschool blog is just not letting me upload pics for some reason. If they do post it seems to be plain luck. I'll keep working at it, but I thought I would share some of the funny things your kids are saying!

"Teacher guess what, I get to go to Lagoon or the moon or something like that"!

One little preschooler came to school with band aids all the way up her shin... child 1 says, "What happened to you"? Child 2 says, "I got bit by a monkey". Child 1, "Well it looks like you got bit by a lot of monkeys"!

"Teacher my new name is Chewbacka (sp?) but you can call me Chewey".

The kids got into a "My dad is the biggest and my dad is bigger than your dad" conversation one day. One little girl said, "Oh yah, well my MOM is the biggest in the whole wide world".

"Teacher my eyes are very sick"
"Why are your eyes sick"
"Because they have tears in them"

Just wanted to let everyone know that I DO have some really cute pics to post, I just can't seem to get blogger to cooperate. For some reason it WILL NOT let me upload anything but text. Keep watching and I'll keep working on it.

New School Year!

"HOO"ray we have started a new year. I am so excited for my new little preschoolers. Our first week was so much fun. I have the cutest kids ever (again)! I can't wait to start posting pictures! Here are some of the songs we are going to sing this week.

I am special
I am special
If you look, you will see
Someone very special
Someone very special
It is me
It is me
(tune: Frere' Jacques)

Special, Special, Special Me
How I wonder what I'll be
In this big world I can be
Anything I want to be
Special, Special, Special Me
How I wonder what I'll be
(tune: Twinkle Twinkle)

Spring Has Sprung On The Farm

We had a great time at The American West Heritage Center. Thanks to all those families who came and shared the day.

(Parents, I'm trying to upload more pictures from the farm, but for some reason they are taking about 5-10 min per pic to load. Sorry!)

Happy Easter

Because of the cold weather we had our Easter Egg Hunt inside this year. The kids had to hunt for eggs and prizes in the preschool. We had fun filling their "bunny bags" with goodies.

Field Trip

Wow! Was my last post really February 18th! Sorry parents. I'll see if I can't get things caught up and stay up to date a little better. These pics are from our field trip. We visited the police station, fire department and the post office. It was a very busy day! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of my wonderful mom helpers! I appreciate your support so much.

Check It Out!!!

Parents, I just wanted to give you the address to one of my favorite educational web sights (www.starfall.com)! I used this sight a lot when teaching first grade. It has activities, games, and on-line books for all different levels. It would be great for preschoolers working on their ABC's or those that are getting ready to start reading. I have added a link to their websight, it is definitely worth checking out!

Happy Valentines

Wow! The kids were very impressed with Valentines Day! They were so excited to pass out valentines to each other. I had to publish the "valentine kids" one of the afternoon preschoolers brought. SO CUTE!!! After I put their valentine bags into their backpacks I told them to be very careful not to let their treats get squashed. I have never seen them walk so carefully! It was a fun day, and I sure do "LOVE" my preschoolers!

Learning our Shapes

We have been working hard to learn the names of our shapes this month. The kids had fun trying to jump frogs to land on different shapes. When their frog landed on a shape they had to name the shape.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

After a month of collecting milk jugs (thanks to all of our milk drinkin' families) we were able to collect enough to make a pretty
good igloo! We tested it out by having an indoor snowball fight. The kids LOVED it!

Winter is Here!

We made our own snow folks based on the book Snowballs by Lois Ehlert! They turned out really cute! ("snowgirl" by O.M. and "snowpuppy" by M.C.)

Happy Birthday A.A. Milne

We celebrated the author A.A. Milne's birthday by having a Winnie the Pooh day! All of the preschool kids brought an old bear (or favorite animal) from home. We read books written by A.A. Milne, sang songs about Winnie the Pooh, and ate buscuits and HONEY! We love Winnie the Pooh!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to preschool. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Our theme for the month of January will be "Winter is Here". We will be reading books about snowflakes, snowmen, penguins, mittens, and hats! We will be building an igloo out of milk jugs (if we can collect enough)! It will be a busy month.
